Walker Bay Radio Flyers (WBRF) is a vibrant, SA-approved RC aircraft club based in Hermanus. Since 2009, we have brought together pilots who share a passion for the thrill and joy of flying.
We are a welcoming community that supports everyone from first-time flyers to seasoned pros. Our mission is to create an enjoyable and accessible space for anyone who wants to explore RC aviation.
If it flies, someone here flies it. Planes, helicopters, electrics, petrol models and gliders all take to our skies. With excellent flying conditions and a lively club spirit, you will quickly feel at home.
We fly from a dedicated airfield featuring two paved runways measuring 120 metres by 5.5 metres, 30-metre runoff areas at each end, a shaded pits area for pilots, and a large open flying space with excellent coastal weather for RC aviation. The airfield is located just off the R43 near Afdaks River Nursery in Hermanus. We also make use of an additional seasonal site in the Botriver area, depending on conditions.
